People

Do most people have asthma attacks in cold weather of the hot weather?

Both. I have had asthma since I was 5 years old, over 45 years now. It did subside for a few years and just recently has returned. Wood burning stove (green wood is very bad) is what set mine off this time, and the pollution in another place was the last time, so it is just not weather that does this. Many people get sicker in the spring with the pollens flying about and again in the fall with dry leaves, plants ect. falling around us. I was just put on singular for the first time, always used ventolin before and still do. Advair is supposed to be good, but it didn't help me this time. Bottom line, if you are asthmatic carry your medicine with you, but always use your daily recommended medicine. An asthma attack can be fatal and can happen at any time with no good reason. Take care and good mental health

While there is not a perfect weather climate for people with asthma, there are certainly types of weather that may cause problems, including extremely hot or cold temperatures, windy conditions, and changes in the humidity or barometric pressure.

Because asthma sufferers have reactive airways, the airways in their lungs respond when they come into contact with certain stimuli. Unfortunately for people with asthma, common weather conditions can provide a number of these stimuli. One of the most important of these is cold weather. This is especially true for those with exercise-induced asthma. Fortunately, cold weather exposure alone rarely causes asthma deaths. More commonly, cold weather intensifies the airway sensitivity started by a cold or other trigger.

people can have asthma attacks whenever. like me i have them hot weather and cold weather. hope i have helped
