ITS AN EMERGENCY!!! PLEASE TELL ME HOW DO I MAKE MY FINGER STOP BLEEDING?

i was cutting something with a knife and the knife slipped and i cut the side of the tip of my finger half way through, so it its bleeding, i do not need stitches but it is very pain full and a good amount of blood is coming out,PLEASE HELP ME

Wrap a wet clean wash rag around the tip of the finger and squeeze it to apply pressure to the area that is bleeding. Hold it until the bleeding stops and then put a bandage and neosporin on it

First thing you do, and this is very important...

Don't type out a question on Yahoo Answers. That's the leading cause of cut finger related exsanguination for people who die from it. Trust me.

It's important then to pry open the wound to see if you can see bone. 'cause that'd be cool. After the pain nearly causes you to black out you're going to want to drink something. Lemonade. If you don't have any make some and fast. Use real lemons. Not the powder mix. Don't cop out. You only live once darnit and fresh lemonade is delicious. Oh, when you're cutting the knife do it fast and carelessly. You don't have time to pay attention where your fingers are. You're bleeding from a knife wound after all.

Then after you enjoy some lemonade apply pressure to your knife wound(s) and wrap it. Close the wound to stop the bleeding. Meat mends itself so just mash it together. But first, dump peroxide in it to kill any bacteria. It'll foam and sting like a son of a ***** but maybe you shouldn't be cleaving into yourself like an over zealous goth kid.

Maintain pressure on it for a day or so. It should stop.

It'll bleed like hell since you cut your finger...the finger is filled with little blood vessels, so it'll bleed A LOT. (trust me) you'll just have to deal with the pain and apply pressure on the wound and raise it up (just keep your arm up, not below your waist).

The blood needs to clot. Rinse it with soap and water then put a hand towel or gauze on it and let it start its process!

Neosporin and a bandaid...
